Playing with your favorite hometown football club seems to be the dream for so many kids out there, but not for Donnarumma.
The drama that he and his agent build up for many years has finally come to an end. Milan gave everything they had for him, a debut, a trust, and money. Yet it still not enough for him.
I can't deny that I feel at lost losing a generational talent like him, he is probably one the best goalkeeper out there, all that in the age of just 22! But after all, there's no player that is bigger than the club and Donnarumma learned it the hard way. Even though he saved us so many times during his time in Milan that there's a time where I agree for the club to just give him everything he wanted. But this is too much, even for him.
There's no goalkeeper that is built like him. Standing at almost 2-meter height yet still have exceptional reflexes. There's the time that Donnarumma is the best player we had. But now, the time changes but Donnarumma still stuck at his own time.
Mad respect for Maldini who is firm and solid. Thinking about it, not even Maldini (who might I remind you brings 5 UCL trophy to Milan) make such a mess in his times. Now, all the legend like Nesta, Ambrosini, and even Dino Zoff have made a statement that what Donnarumma do to Milan has become too much. Way too much.
Now Donnarumma will leave the club and I wish him a good career and lots of money. I don't hate him, I just don't respect him anymore. Something that he can't buy with all that money.
Now I feel at ease knowing that we are finally on the right track after all so many years venturing and lost. In Maldini I trust.
This is also a lesson to another player (Looking at you, Calhanoglu) to not fuck with Maldini.
Anyway, the replacement for Donnarumma has arrived and we buy him so cheap and his stats show him that he's probably the best out there in last season. Mike Maignan has arrived and agreed to join the club. Some fans see him as the New Dida, we'll see what he brings.
It is gonna be interesting how Maldini and the others manage this Mercato. My only wishes? Bring Belotti and Calhanoglu's replacement.
I'll leave the defensive area to the best person.
